Fit
Size labels are meaningless across brands. A medium is whatever the brand decided a medium is. So rather than ask for your body measurements, we publish the flat measurements of the garments themselves and suggest you compare them against something you already own and like.
How to measure
Take the garment you reach for most, lay it flat, smooth out the wrinkles, and measure three things. All our figures below are flat measurements in centimetres, so do not double them.
- Chest. Straight across the garment one inch below the armhole, seam to seam.
- Body length. From the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
- Sleeve. From the shoulder seam to the edge of the cuff.
If you can only match one number, match the chest. Length can be tolerated a couple of centimetres either way and sleeves can be pushed up. A chest two centimetres out is the difference between something you wear and something you do not.

A note on shrinkage
Our cotton is pre-shrunk, but pre-shrunk means most of the shrinkage has already happened, not all of it. Expect up to one percent more, mostly in length. If you are exactly between two sizes and you like a closer fit, take the smaller one.
The Chore Jacket is the exception. It is unwashed denim and will shrink around three percent in length on its first cold wash, which we have already allowed for in the figures above.
And if it still arrives wrong, send it back. Sixty days, worn or washed, no argument.
