A good hoodie is the least precious thing you own and the one you reach for most. Here are five ways ours earns its place in a small wardrobe.
1. Under a overshirt
Hood out, collar open. It adds a layer without adding bulk at the shoulder, which is the usual problem with hoodies under a coat.
2. Over a collared shirt
An old trick that still works. Let an inch of collar show and it reads as deliberate rather than rushed.
3. With tailored trousers
The contrast does the work. Keep the hoodie plain and the trousers pressed, and the whole thing looks considered.
4. Zipped to the top as a mid-layer
In genuinely cold weather the zip version replaces a jumper entirely. Fewer things, more use out of each.
5. On its own, sleeves pushed up
The simplest version and the one we wear most. A heavier loopback cotton is what makes this look finished rather than scruffy.
